Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate LEAP Support Coordinator to join our team on a fixed‑term basis, covering maternity leave. This role suits someone who is confident working in a busy, fast‑paced environment and has proven experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities, particularly within group‑based settings.
The LEAP Support Coordinator plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering a wide range of meaningful activities within the LEAP programme. You will work in line with EGL principles, supporting people to access rich, diverse experiences that promote learning, independence, and personal development.
We’re looking for someone who brings skills, interests, or hobbies that can be naturally woven into the role to further enrich the lives of the people we support. Ideally, you would be confident stepping into existing activity groups, such as:
Yoga or movement‑based sessions
Gym and fitness activities
Cooking and baking groups
You will work closely alongside people we support—facilitating skill development, encouraging participation, and supporting access to community groups and external providers. The role includes group facilitation, supporting people to attend community‑based activities, and creating positive, inclusive environments that enable learning and growth.
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.50 and $29.10 per hour.

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm
Total Hours per fortnight: 75
This position is a fixed-term employment starting immediately and ending on April 16th, 2027.

Previous support work, youth work or community education experience required.

An enthusiastic self-starter who is adaptable and open to new experiences
Hold a minimum of a Level 2 Health and Wellbeing qualification, or an equivalent qualification
